My wife and I started C Muskett Engineering in 2006 after moving to Lincolnshire from kent.
Our son joined us in 2007 and has become an asset to us and spread the load.
As an apprentice I worked for a company in Bexleyheath learning welding and fabrication skills. After two years I transferred to the machine shop in Dartford to broaden my skills as a fitter turner.
After moving to Sittingbourne in Kent and for the next twelve years I was mainly involved in work for the MOD and was based at Fort Halstead in Sevenoaks. We moved to Larkfield and my involvement in model engineering began and remained so for the next thirty years until we moved to Lincolnshire.
I started C Muskett Engineering with work from my old employers and still do work for them. Whislt working on a traction engine I needed to replace a rather odd damaged old injector. Unable to find one I made a new one from the old design and after a bit of fine tuning it worked and my interest in injectors was born.
We now make a range of horizontal and vertical injectors up to sixteen pints delivery and supply to the UK, Australia and the USA. We started to make and repair special fittings to order and supply other fittings from the leading UK manufacturer.
To help with the productions of injector parts we purchased a CNC lathe but this needed some work to make it the forth member of the team. With the very hard work of James and his will not to be beaten, Henry, as we call him came back to life and with the programming skills of another very clever man Nigel and lots of support we make Henry earn his keep.
